This is a National Holiday in Colombia and I thought it would be interesting to learn about what it stands for. This holiday just occurred on Monday June 15th. In Spanish it's known as Sagrado Corazón. An interesting fact I learned is that this holiday always falls on a Monday.
It falls 10 days and a day after Easter Sunday.
The full name is "The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus."
This holiday is to celebrate the physical heart of Jesus and his divine love for all of humanity.
This celebration started in the middle ages but was brought to Latin America by the colonizing Spanish.
